Hey, howdy, hallo,
I didn’t really feel like writing today, so instead, I thought I would share a tech/privacy-related movie, book, TV Show, and Magazine that I enjoy.
Ghost in the Wires: My Adventures as the World’s Most Wanted Hacker - By Kevin Mitnick.
You may have heard of the name Kevin Mitnick before. I read this book around 12 years ago, and I really liked it. Seeing as over a decade has passed, maybe everything isn’t as relevant now as it was then…but it’s still a great story.
UNREDACTED Magazine is a fantastic publication by Michael Bazzell and the IntelTechniques team. There’s something refreshing about long-form content regarding privacy, security, and OSINT. It comes in a PDF and has a great layout for reading. Whenever a new issue comes out, I always make sure to buy a copy.
Pirates of Silicon Valley is my favorite tech/nerd movie. It covers the early days of Apple and Microsoft from the perspective of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. It came out in 1999, but it’s still a fun movie to watch.
I really, really like Halt and Catch Fire. It definitely takes some artistic liberties in terms of how it portrays the personal computer revolution and the early days of the web, but it’s extremely well done.
I hope you had a great June, and I’ll see you in July!
